Abilio Coello, M.D., medical director of vascular surgery for Baptist Cardiac & Vascular Institute, has been elected president of the Florida Vascular Society, an organization dedicated to promoting the diagnosis and management of vascular disease and encouraging research and education in the field. Dr. Coello specializes in both open and endovascular surgery.

 

Dr. Coello received his medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where he also completed his residency in general surgery and served as chief resident.

 

In addition to his private practice, Dr. Coello is an assistant professor at the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine at Florida International University. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the International Society for Vascular Surgery and the South Florida Society for Vascular Surgery.
