The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN), the American Cancer Society’s advocacy affiliate, has announced that Representative Ronald “Doc” Renuart (R – Ponte Vedra Beach) is the recipient of a 2012 Florida Legislative Award for his efforts to advance the ACS CAN mission during the last legislative session in Tallahassee.

 

Representative Renuart stood up for cancer patients, and others in need of bone marrow transplants, by being a leading voice in opposition to a bill that would have repealed required insurance coverage of this critical procedure. As a result, more people will have access to the lifesaving care and treatment needed to fight the insidious disease.
