April 24, 2026 — The American Red Cross is proud to announce the induction of Dame Amanda Schumacher and Charles Schumacher into the American Red Cross Chairman’s Council, a distinguished group of philanthropic leaders whose extraordinary generosity helps ensure the organization can deliver lifesaving services to those in need.
The Chairman’s Council recognizes individuals and families whose cumulative giving to the Red Cross exceeds $1 million. Members share a deep commitment to supporting communities during times of crisis, both across the country and around the world.
Dame Amanda Schumacher and Charles Schumacher exemplify that commitment through both their leadership and philanthropy. Their contributions have made a lasting impact on the Red Cross mission, helping provide disaster relief, support for military families and critical preparedness services.
For four consecutive years, the Schumachers served as Chairmen of the International Red Cross Ball, one of the organization’s flagship philanthropic events. Under their leadership, the event achieved historic success, raising more than $9 million to support Red Cross humanitarian efforts. In 2025, the Ball marked its most successful fundraising year in its 65-year history.
In addition to their leadership, the Schumachers have demonstrated extraordinary personal generosity, contributing more than $1 million to the Red Cross. Their support ensures the organization can continue delivering help and hope to families impacted by disasters and emergencies.
Dame Amanda Schumacher is widely recognized as a visionary leader with more than two decades of experience spanning business, philanthropy and global humanitarian initiatives. Her work across numerous advisory boards, including the American Red Cross, reflects a deep commitment to service, community impact and expanding opportunities for others.
