June 8 2022 – The Office of Medical Marijuana Use (OMMU) is part of the Florida Department of Health and was created to regulate Florida’s Medical Marijuana Use Program. The OMMU is statutorily charged with developing and implementing accurate information regarding the legal, healthy and safe use of medical marijuana. Every day, the OMMU works to provide qualified patients, caregivers and physicians the information and resources they need to access Florida’s medical marijuana use program.

Additionally, the OMMU writes and implements the Florida Department of Health’s rules for medical marijuana; oversees the statewide Medical Marijuana Use Registry; licenses Florida businesses to cultivate, process and dispense medical marijuana to qualified patients; and certifies marijuana testing laboratories to ensure the health and safety of the public as it relates to marijuana.

The OMMU’s Outreach and Education Team conducts presentations/trainings and participates in exhibit opportunities across the state to help educate patients, physicians, medical marijuana treatment centers, community groups, law enforcement organizations and others about Florida’s medical marijuana use program.

The OMMU will be attending the Florida International Medical Expo at the Miami Beach Convention Center on July 27-29, 2022. Stop by and visit the OMMU at booth T-34 to learn more about Florida’s Medical Marijuana Use Program and the OMMU. On Thursday, July 28, 2022, at 1:00 pm, Carmen Dixon, Nurse Consultant and Outreach Liaison for the OMMU, will be doing a short presentation on the program.

As Florida’s Official Source for Responsible Use, the OMMU is dedicated to offering the most current and accurate information regarding medical marijuana in Florida. Visit our website, www.KnowTheFactsMMJ.com, for the latest information on Florida’s Medical Marijuana Use Program.
