South Florida Physician Leaders Encouraged to Apply for Free Training Program

The Physician Leadership Academy (PLA) of South Florida, a program managed by the Palm Beach County Medical Society Services (PBCMS) in partnership with Broward and Dade County Medical Associations, is accepting applications for the sixth class now through September 24th, 2021. Sessions will begin on October 16, 2021. (see below for a detailed list of sessions.)

Funded through a grant from The Physicians Foundation and endorsed by the Florida Medical Association, PLA is designed to support physicians who want to hone their leadership skills. The program is free and includes seven sessions on such topics as: relationship building, advocacy and physician engagement, presentation skills, crisis management, cultural agility, innovative models of care and ethical leadership.  Additional benefits include at least 30 AMA Category 1 CME credits — with full attendance, participation in a group community leadership project, chance to learn tools vital to thriving in today’s health care environment, and the opportunity to join a growing network of like-minded medical professionals.

Applicants, who may self-nominate, must be members of the PBCMS, Broward County Medical Association or Dade County Medical Association. The PLA Advisory Committee will review all applications, and everyone will be notified of their selection by September 30.
