The Area Agency on Aging of Broward County’s (AAABC) CEO, Charlotte Mather-Taylor, has been inducted as a 2024 Inspiring Women of Health by the Health Foundation of South Florida. She earned recognition for her 30 years of senior and healthcare advocacy alongside 11 other extraordinary community leaders at the Inspiring Women of Health Awards Luncheon in March.

As CEO, Mather-Taylor oversees the nonprofit umbrella organization charged with planning, coordinating, monitoring, providing, and funding programs designed to meet the needs of almost half a million Broward County senior residents. Throughout her career, she has been keen to monitor the pulse of her community to better understand its needs and to put forth viable solutions. Inspired by firsthand accounts of seniors struggling with isolation during COVID-19, she spearheaded AAABC’s Senior Technologies Programs. Recent initiatives like the Tailored Caregiver Assessment & Referral Program (TCARE) to support family caregivers at risk of burnout, collaboration with Intuition Robotics to add ElliQ, an AI care companion, and partnership with Amazon Ring have greatly benefited seniors, promoting independence and well-being.
