August 25, 2026 – HCA Florida JFK Hospital has named Sarah Siebert, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, assistant chief nursing officer (ACNO). In her new role, Sarah will join assistant chief nursing officer Lisisbell Melendrez in supporting the hospital’s nursing teams and advancing its continued commitment to clinical quality, patient safety and nursing excellence.

Sarah brings more than 16 years of progressive healthcare leadership experience across acute care and procedural services. Throughout her career, she has led initiatives focused on strengthening professional nursing practice, developing and engaging colleagues, enhancing patient experience and supporting strong operational performance. Her leadership experience spans critical care, medical-surgical services, cardiovascular care, rehabilitation and procedural services.

In that role, she focused on strengthening shared governance, colleague engagement and professional nursing development, including efforts to increase nursing education and specialty certification. She also held leadership roles in critical care, telemetry safety and other multidisciplinary initiatives at the hospital and division levels.

Prior to joining HCA Healthcare, Sarah held nursing leadership roles with responsibility for surgical services, medical-surgical nursing, cardiovascular services and acute rehabilitation. Her career progression from bedside registered nurse and nurse manager to director and administrative director has given her extensive experience leading nursing teams and complex clinical operations.

Sarah earned both her master of science in nursing and bachelor of science in nursing from Florida Atlantic University, where she was a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She is a board-certified Nurse Executive, Advanced (NEA-BC) through the American Nurses Credentialing Center and a graduate of the Cornell Leadership Institute and HCA East Florida Division Leadership Institute Academy.

Miller succeeds Charles Gressle, who has been appointed president of HCA Healthcare’s new Ambulatory Operations Group

August 25, 2026 – HCA Healthcare today announced that Dan Miller has been named president of the East Florida Division, succeeding Charles Gressle, who has been appointed president of HCA Healthcare’s newly formed Ambulatory Operations  Group.

Miller currently serves as president and chief executive officer of Methodist Healthcare System, a 50/50 partnership between the Methodist Healthcare Ministries and HCA Healthcare, in San Antonio, Texas, where he leads one of the region’s largest healthcare systems. He brings 20 years of healthcare leadership experience to the East Florida Division where he will oversee 14 hospitals, 12 freestanding emergency rooms, 65 urgent care clinics and more than 100 physician practices. Miller has a strong track record of expanding clinical services, driving operational performance and advancing quality care.

Miller was appointed president of Methodist Healthcare in 2023. Under his leadership, the division underwent the largest expansion in its history, opened new hospitals and expanded access to inpatient, rehabilitation and outpatient services and launched a graduate medical education program. Additionally, annual patient encounters grew from

1.6 million in 2019 to 2.6 million in 2025.

Before assuming leadership of Methodist Healthcare, Miller served as chief executive officer of Methodist Hospital and Methodist Children’s Hospital. During his tenure,

Methodist Hospital expanded key service lines and became the largest hospital in Texas for admissions. The hospital also earned national recognition for clinical excellence and quality outcomes, including being named to the Fortune/Merative 100 Top Hospitals list and receiving recognition from U.S. News & World Report as a Best Regional Hospital.

Earlier in his career, Miller served as chief executive officer of HCA HealthONE Aurora and chief operating officer of HCA HealthONE Swedish, both in Colorado.

Gressle will have responsibility for HCA Healthcare’s Physician Services Group, including Urgent Care operations and Physician Practice operations, as well as the company’s Surgery Ventures Group and other corporate service line and support functions. The Ambulatory Operations Group encompasses more than 2,700 facilities and clinics and is designed to strengthen integration across HCA Healthcare’s growing ambulatory network and enhance coordination in support of patients, physicians and caregivers.

This milestone brings complex cardiothoracic surgical care closer to home for patients in Hernando County and surrounding communities, backed by the expertise and resources of Tampa General’s academic health system.

August 24, 2026 – Tampa General Hospital (TGH) Brooksville has reached a significant clinical milestone with the successful completion of its first cardiothoracic surgical procedure, expanding access to advanced heart care for patients in Hernando County and surrounding communities. The inaugural procedure included a single-vessel coronary artery bypass graft (CABG), mitral valve repair and atrial appendage clipping.

The launch of cardiothoracic surgery at TGH Brooksville represents the latest advancement in Tampa General’s ongoing efforts to expand access to academic medicine across the communities it serves. By bringing this advanced surgical capability to Brooksville, patients with complex cardiovascular conditions can now access a broader range of specialized care closer to home while benefiting from the clinical expertise, resources and coordinated care of Tampa General, Florida’s premier academic health system.

“This is the power being backed by an academic health system; it allows us to transform care for the communities we serve,” said Stacey Brandt, executive vice president and chief administrative officer at Florida Health Sciences Center | Tampa General and president of the TGH Community and Specialty Hospital Division. “We are taking the expertise, clinical excellence and resources available across the Tampa General Academic Health System and, through our partnership with USF Health, extending those capabilities to patients across our growing network. For patients in Hernando County, that means greater access to highly specialized cardiovascular care, closer to their families and in their own community.”

Establishing cardiothoracic surgery at TGH Brooksville was a collaborative effort that brought together physicians, clinical teams and leaders from TGH Brooksville and TGH Spring Hill, alongside the expertise and support of Tampa General’s academic medical center on Davis Islands and USF Health. The program was built through close partnership with members of the local medical staff and community providers whose commitment to expanding access to advanced cardiac care helped make this milestone possible. The effort was led by Benjamin Mackie, MD, vice president and co-chief of TGH Heart & Vascular Institute (HVI), medical director of HVI Heart Failure Center of Excellence and medical director of Heart Transplantation; Lucian Lozonschi, MD, director and chief of cardiothoracic surgery at TGH and the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine; and Charan Mungara, MD, a cardiothoracic surgeon who joined the team to help establish and lead the program at TGH Brooksville. Additionally, the effort was supported by Julie Lallanilla, RN, MBA, CVRN, cardiovascular services market director for TGH Brooksville and TGH Spring Hill, who helped ensure the hospital, the care team and the necessary infrastructure were prepared to launch the new surgical capability.

Through Tampa General’s longstanding partnership with USF Health, cardiothoracic surgery patients have access to university-based expertise, research-driven surgical techniques, leading-edge technologies and evidence-based care for complex heart and lung conditions. The cardiothoracic surgery program provides advanced surgical care for conditions affecting the heart, lungs and chest, including coronary artery disease, heart valve disease and complex aortic conditions.

“This first procedure represents an important step in building a comprehensive cardiothoracic surgery program for this community,” said Mungara. “Patients with complex cardiovascular disease benefit from a multidisciplinary approach that brings together surgeons, cardiologists, anesthesiologists, nurses, critical care specialists and many other members of the care team. At TGH Brooksville, we can combine that coordinated approach with the expertise of an academic health system, expanding access to advanced surgical care while allowing more patients to receive that care closer to home.”

This first cardiothoracic surgery at TGH Brooksville builds upon Tampa General’s continued expansion of cardiovascular services in Hernando County through the TGH HVI. In May 2025, TGH Brooksville opened dedicated cardiac rehabilitation services, providing patients with access to medically supervised rehabilitation and support as they recover from cardiac events and procedures. In July 2025, the hospital further expanded its cardiovascular capabilities with the opening of an advanced heart failure clinic, bringing specialized care and disease management closer to patients living with complex heart failure.

With the launch of complex cardiothoracic surgery at TGH Brooksville, Tampa General continues to build upon that commitment, bringing more sophisticated specialty care into the community while connecting patients across the region to the expertise of the TGH and USF Health network.

August 24, 2026 – Memorial Healthcare System has announced two leadership promotions, naming Felicia Turnley CEO of Memorial Hospital Miramar and Stephen Demers CEO of Memorial Hospital West.

Turnley currently serves as CEO of Memorial Hospital Pembroke, while Demers has served as CEO of Memorial Hospital Miramar since 2023. Both leaders bring extensive healthcare leadership experience and a strong track record within Memorial Healthcare System.

She also helped oversee the expansion of freestanding emergency services in southwest Broward with the opening of Memorial’s Red Road ER and Douglas Road Er.

Prior to leading Memorial Hospital Pembroke, Turnley served as chief operating officer of Memorial Hospital West.

McGavick brings decades of experience in healthcare law, federal policy, and advocacy, with a distinguished career representing the nation’s hospitals before Congress and the executive branch.

McGavick served as Washington Counsel for the American Hospital Association (AHA), where she represented hospitals and health systems before Congress, the White House, and the Department of Health and Human Services during a pivotal period in American healthcare. In that role, she advised on legislative and regulatory matters affecting hospitals nationwide and was a frequent speaker, author, and media commentator on healthcare policy and law.

Prior to joining the AHA, McGavick practiced healthcare law in Washington, D.C., first with Powers, Pyles, Sutter & O’Hare and later with Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld, advising healthcare providers on regulatory, compliance, and policy matters.

She currently chairs the Government Affairs Committee of the Port Royal Property Owners’ Association, where she regularly engages with state and local government officials, and serves on an advisory committee at her alma mater, the University of Notre Dame. Her previous nonprofit board service includes the Chicago Shakespeare Theater and the Seattle Shakespeare Company.
