March 31, 2021 – Florida Atlantic University’s Joanna Drowos, D.O., M.P.H., M.B.A., associate chair of the Department of Integrated Medical Science, an associate professor of integrated medical science, and a practicing physician at the Marcus Institute for Integrative Health at FAU Medicine, within  the Schmidt College of Medicine, provides answers to some of the most frequently asked questions regarding COVID-19 vaccines.

March 31 2021 – A new study published in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report Series has found that Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna — two messenger-RNA vaccines — were effective in preventing COVID-19 among health care, first responders, and frontline workers. These interim findings, published on March 29, reinforce the success of current COVID-19 vaccination campaigns and can reassure the public and these workers that they begin gaining protection after their first dose of the vaccines.

March 31, 2021 – Lee Health is seeking blood donations to help replenish supply levels. Current blood supplies are critically low, and Lee Health’s blood centers are in urgent need of donors.

March 31, 2021- JFK Medical Center North Campus has named Jason Ouellette, MD as Assistant Chief Medical Officer (ACMO), effective March 22, 2021. Jason joins JFK Medical Center North Campus from Connecticut previously serving as Chair for Department of Medicine and Interim-Chief Medical Officer at Saint Mary’s Hospital since 2013.
