Madeline Cordero
Lead Controller
 
Madeline Cordero is the lead controller for Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center. Among her responsibilities, include working with the Chief Financial Officer to ensure financial statements are accurate, assisting the CFO to prepare the budgets and expenses, and preparing bank and general ledger reconciliations. Prior to her time with Palm Beach Gardens, Cordero worked at sister hospital St. Mary’s Medical Center as a Senior Accountant. In her role, Cordero was in charge of overseeing and managing different accounts, preparing balance sheets and assisting and monitoring the hospital’s internal controls. Cordero also worked in severed several roles in accounting at a senior living facility in South Florida. Cordero earned her undergraduate degree in business administration from Universidad de Puerto Rico in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico and then went on to earn a degree in accounting from Universidad del Este, in Carolina, Puerto Rico. 


Cleveland Clinic Martin Health welcomes board-certified medical hematologist oncologist Houssein Sater, MD. As a physician scientist, Dr. Sater will lead cancer research at Martin Health and work alongside Cleveland Clinic Florida researchers to advance cancer immunotherapy and provide more personalized treatment options for patients with cancer.

Dr. Sater earned his medical degree at Lebanese University in Beirut. He completed residency programs at National Institute of Pathology in Beirut and at Northwell University Hospital in New York. He completed fellowship training programs at Jules Bordet Institute in Belgium and at Georgia Cancer Center in Augusta.
 
Prior to joining Martin Health, Dr. Sater has worked at National Cancer Institute, where he served on faculty as an assistant research physician in medical oncology. 


 

 

 

 

 



Five physicians in Lakeside Medical Center’s Family Medicine Residency Program recently graduated in a virtual following three years of intense training during an unprecedented time in healthcare. The teaching hospital is located in the heart of Palm Beach County’s rural, western communities, which in 2020 was considered a hot spot for COVID-19.

“I commend this class of residents for their dedication to our hospital’s patients while serving on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Darcy J. Davis, CEO of the Health Care District of Palm Beach County. “Their commitment and care have helped improve the health of the Glades community,”
 
The graduates, John D. Adame, D.O., Quanecia Beasley, D.O., Sonya Dusseault, D.O., and Chief Residents Christal Landeros, D.O., and Kerlan St. Prix, D.O., completed a rigorous three-year curriculum. Their rotations included emergency medicine, critical care, women’s health, behavioral health, general surgery, inpatient, outpatient and community medicine, musculoskeletal and sports medicine, cardiology, geriatrics, and pediatrics.
 
“I have had the enormous pleasure of sharing the journey of these fine physicians,” said Seneca Harberger, M.D., Family Medicine Residency Program Director at Lakeside Medical Center. “They’ve been through a lot of extra trials and have truly found ways to learn and grow from all of them. I’m proud to know them and look forward to all the great work I’m sure they will do for their patients.”
 


Trulieve Cannabis Corp. and Harvest Health & Recreation Inc. announced the expiration of the 30-day waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976 in connection with the previously announced proposed acquisition.

Trulieve CEO Kim Rivers commented, "Completion of the HSR milestone is exciting and we will continue to work toward closing this strategic transaction. Upon closing, we expect to leverage the expertise and resources of the combined companies to realize meaningful scale and expansion for years to come."
 
Closing of the Transaction remains subject to the satisfaction or waiver of all remaining conditions in the agreement. The Harvest shareholder vote is expected to occur in the third quarter of 2021. Both companies continue to work toward obtaining all required regulatory approvals.
