Kaylee Liggett, BSN, RN, CCRN

Kaylee Liggett works in the Cardiac Cath Lab and Intensive Care Unit at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center. From a young age, Kaylee was always drawn to the nursing field. Her mother was a nurse, and she has always had an innate desire to help people. Kaylee says that for her, nursing is the perfect profession for her. What Kaylee loves most about being a nurse, is helping and advocating for people at their most vulnerable and unexpected moments. Kaylee says that while some days are harder than others, what is most rewarding to her, are those unexpected days or the more intimate little moments she gets with her patients, their family members, and her colleagues. She says nursing keeps her humble, and there is not a day which goes by where she’s not learning or gaining perspective from a colleague or patient. Kaylee received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Lakeview College of Nursing in Danville, Illinois. When Kaylee is not working, she enjoys going to the beach with her goldendoodle Oliver, spending time with her friends and family, hiking, and cooking.
 
Juliette Francois, ADN, LPN, RN
 
Juliette Francois is a nurse on the orthopedic floor at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center. Juliette was inspired to become a nurse because of her late mother-in-law who paid for Juliette’s assistant nursing license, and pushed her to get her practical nursing license too. Juliette has now been a nurse for over 10 years. What she finds most rewarding about being a nurse is helping her patients heal, and being a positive light for someone who needs it. Early on in her career, a patient told Juliette she had a calming spirit, and she will touch many people’s lives during some of their lowest moments. Juliette earned her associates degree in nursing from the Academy of Nursing and Health Occupations in West Palm Beach, Florida. When she is not at work, she enjoys running, reading, traveling and spending time with her family. 
 
 


Saymar Moran, RN
 
Saymar Moran, RN, is the ANM of Stepdown at Palmetto General Hospital. Her career in nursing has translated into 14 years of healthcare experience that has taken her through a variety of specialty departments and leading to her passion with the Stepdown services department. Saymar earned her nursing degree at Miami Dade College. During her spare time, she enjoys exercising, outdoor activities, arts, music, as well as spending time with family and friends. Saymar takes great pride in the community she has found a passion for serving his community and has continued to reside and practice his nursing career within his community.
 
Camilo Puerto, RN
 
Camilo Puerto, RN, is the Assistance Nurse Manager of Critical Care at Palmetto General Hospital. His career in nursing has translated into 6 years of healthcare experience that has taken him through a variety of specialty departments and leading to his passion in Critical Care. Camilo is responsible for the day-to-day operations of a 50-bed Critical Care and Neurological Intensive Care Unit Department.
Camilo earned his nursing degree at Chamberlain School of Nursing. At the start of the COVID pandemic, Camilo demonstrated his dedication to caring for our most critically ill Covid patients. He always treats his patients with compassion and empathy.
 
During his spare time, he enjoys exercising, outdoor activities, arts, music, as well as spending time with family and friends.

    



Nonprofit’s mission is to eliminate addiction through prevention, advocacy and recovery support
 
April 28 2021 – West Palm Beach resident Chip James has been elected as the new chairman of the board for Hanley Foundation, the nonprofit statewide leader in substance misuse prevention and education.
 
“Hanley Foundation’s mission is to eliminate addiction through prevention, advocacy and recovery support,” said James. “The organization is not only vital to our community, but it also resonates with me on a personal level as I have close to a decade of sobriety. As the new board chairman, I want to expand Hanley Foundation’s footprint of influence and look forward to bringing my personal and business experience to the organization while continuing to help those struggling with the disease of addiction.” 
 
James is the founder of PBI Real Estate Development, LLC, specializing in real estate sales, management, development and investment. In addition to his work with Hanley Foundation, he currently serves as treasurer and keyholder for two Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) groups and previously served multiple terms as treasurer and as a board member of The Triangle Club, a non-profit AA-based meeting facility. He was also a co-founder of Harry Hamilton Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports The Triangle Club. His hobbies include woodworking and flying his Cessna airplane.

Jennifer Benvin, NP, MSN, ASN, BSN

Jennifer Benvin is a labor and delivery nurse at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Jennifer decided to become a nurse because she wanted to help her community and and make a positive impact in people’s lives. She loves the versatility of nursing, and is always excited to care for new mothers and babies who may be high-risk patients. Benvin serves as the assistant nurse manager in the unit, and says the most rewarding part of her job, is knowing the care she provides directly affects the people she treats. What stands out most to Benvin about her job, is the role everyone has when it comes to treating and supporting the patients they serve.
 
Sheryl Azurin-Espidol, RN, BSN, MAN
 
Sheryl Azurin-Espidol works in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at St. Mary’s Medical Center, working with the tiniest patients in the hospital. Originally, from the Philippines, Sheryl was encouraged to take up nursing by her mother and aunt. Nursing was initially very challenging for Sheryl as she had a fear of blood. Eventually, she got over her phobia and has been working as a nurse at the hospital for the past three years. Sheryl absolutely loves babies; she has four of her own children, and it is the main reason why she enjoys working in the NICU. Meeting the families and getting to know them is one of the highlights of her job, and of course seeing the babies continue to get healthy and eventually leave the hospital is the by far the most rewarding part of her job. When Sheryl is not working her passion away from nursing is clipping coupons. In addition, she enjoys cooking and gardening. 


Shana Deniro-Pipher, RN, ADN, BS

Shana Deniro-Pipher is a labor and delivery nurse at West Boca Medical Center. For the past eight years, she has been helping bring new life into the world for expectant parents. Shana was originally going to become a doctor and apply to medical school, but when she signed up for a class allowing her to shadow physicians, she fell in love with the nursing side of medicine and decided to change her career path. Shana says the most rewarding part of being a nurse in the L&D unit, is experiencing a miracle every time she goes to work. She thinks of herself as a patient advocate, educator, coach and a friend. Shana, enjoys being able to help a patient delivery their baby for the first time, or a mother who is delivering again, after such a wonderful first experience. Shana wants to put a smile on every patients face, and make sure they feel safe. Shana earned her associates degree in nursing from Palm Beach State College, and her bachelor’s degree in biology from Florida Atlantic University. When Shana is not working she enjoys being with her family and friends and loves to travel with her husband.
 
Hal Oster, RN, AND
 
Hal Oster has been dedicated to serving patients in the community for over 40 years. He says what is most rewarding about being a nurse is the positive effect you have on the lives of people and their families every single day. Hal works in the ambulatory care unit, which is a part of the perioperative department at West Boca Medical Center. He originally planned on becoming a police officer, fate took him in another direction and nursing became his calling, and he never looked back. Hal’s most memorable moment is when he saw a patient he treated in the ER, and he had not left the hospital, because he did not have a ride home. Oster drove him to the train station, but after they missed the train, Hal then drove him an hour South back to his house. When he is not caring for patients, Hal is with his family and friends. He says he is looking forward to retirement when he can travel as much as possible.
