Saul Rivera, RN, BSN

Saul Rivera, R.N., B.S.N., is an Assistant Nurse Manager at North Shore Medical Center. He has been serving the community at North Shore for the past 15 years. Saul is in charge of overseeing a team of nurses. He also provides training, scheduling and mentoring. Saul earned his nursing degree at Ana. G Mendez University. During his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and exploring the world through travel. He has a passion for helping others and volunteering at local non-profits. 


Shana Deniro-Pipher, RN, ADN, BS

Shana Deniro-Pipher is a labor and delivery nurse at West Boca Medical Center. For the past eight years, she has been helping bring new life into the world for expectant parents. Shana was originally going to become a doctor and apply to medical school, but when she signed up for a class allowing her to shadow physicians, she fell in love with the nursing side of medicine and decided to change her career path. Shana says the most rewarding part of being a nurse in the L&D unit, is experiencing a miracle every time she goes to work. She thinks of herself as a patient advocate, educator, coach and a friend. Shana, enjoys being able to help a patient delivery their baby for the first time, or a mother who is delivering again, after such a wonderful first experience. Shana wants to put a smile on every patients face, and make sure they feel safe. Shana earned her associates degree in nursing from Palm Beach State College, and her bachelor’s degree in biology from Florida Atlantic University. When Shana is not working she enjoys being with her family and friends and loves to travel with her husband.
 
Hal Oster, RN, AND
 
Hal Oster has been dedicated to serving patients in the community for over 40 years. He says what is most rewarding about being a nurse is the positive effect you have on the lives of people and their families every single day. Hal works in the ambulatory care unit, which is a part of the perioperative department at West Boca Medical Center. He originally planned on becoming a police officer, fate took him in another direction and nursing became his calling, and he never looked back. Hal’s most memorable moment is when he saw a patient he treated in the ER, and he had not left the hospital, because he did not have a ride home. Oster drove him to the train station, but after they missed the train, Hal then drove him an hour South back to his house. When he is not caring for patients, Hal is with his family and friends. He says he is looking forward to retirement when he can travel as much as possible. 


Holly Salajka, RN, MSN

Holly Salajka, RN, MSN, is the Director of Education and Informatics for the Tenet Miami Dade Market. Her career in nursing has translated into 30 years of healthcare experience that has taken her through a variety of specialty departments and leading to his passion with the Education and Informatics departments. Holly is responsible for the daily operations of Informatics and Education for the five Miami Dade Tenet hospitals as well as the Cardiac Cath Lab at Florida Medical Center. Holly is a member of the Lauderdale Lakes Economic Development Advisory Board. Holly earned her Bachelors of Nursing from University of South Florida and her Masters Degree of Nursing Informatics from Chamberlain College of Nursing. During her spare time, she enjoys reading, her Peloton and visiting with friends and family. She has found a passion for serving her community and has continued to reside and practice her nursing career within her community.
 
Sharmila Perez, RN
 
Sharmila Perez, RN, is the Administrative Director of Critical Care at Florida Medical Center. Her career in nursing has translated into 23 years of healthcare experience that has taken her through a variety of specialty departments. Sharmila started her healthcare journey as an admissions clerk and worked her way up to her current position where she is responsible for the daily operations of the Medical, Neuro and Cardiac ICU’s as well as oversight of the Hemodialysis department. Sharmila is a member of the ACHE, and AACN. Sharmila earned her nursing degree at Florida Atlantic University. Sharmila came to FMC at the start of the COVID pandemic prior to that; she worked at a sister facility in Palm Beach County. During her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and exploring the world through travel. She has found a passion for serving her community and has continued to reside and practice her nursing career within her community.

Denise Hernandez-Figueroa, MSN, RN

Denise Hernandez-Figueroa, MSN, RN, is currently the Chief Nursing Officer at Coral Gables Hospital. Hernandez-Figueroa has more than 14 years of clinical and administrative experience in Nursing. In her role at Coral Gables Hospital, she is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the care and staffing of the hospital’s nursing units, their daily operations, along with implementing quality initiatives.
 
Shortly after starting at Coral Gables Hospital as CNO, Hernandez-Figueroa was tasked with leading her nursing team through the COVID-19 Global Pandemic. In addition, she has assisted with the launch of Tele-ER services for the Miami-Dade/Broward Tenet Hospital sites, increasing Emergency Care access to patients virtually.
 
Hernandez-Figueroa’s nursing leadership experience began at one of New York City’s top hospitals. Her experience in Florida includes being the Director of Emergency Services at Palmetto General Hospital as well as Coral Gables Hospital many years ago. In both positions, she was accountable for the overall direction of the Emergency Departments. She has been instrumental in the implementation of numerous nursing, quality and patient safety initiatives, which led to the overall improvement at her organizations. Her focus is on the patient experience, quality of care, culture of safety and employee engagement.
 
Jonathan Fraginals, BSN, RN
 
Jonathan Fraginals, BSN, RN, is currently the Director of Nursing for Critical Care Services and Nursing Administration. Fraginals is responsible for all Critical Care Areas, which include Emergency Services at the Main Hospital and Off-Campus Emergency Department, the Intensive Care Unit, and the Surgical Stepdown Area. In addition, he oversees Nursing Administration. Fraginals has over 12 years of nursing experience and over 8 years in Nursing Leadership. He started at Coral Gables Hospital in 2015 as a Nurse Manager, was promoted to Director the following year, He has since covered many different areas of the hospital and been an active participant in driving the quality of patient care. Fraginals earned his Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Barry University. He is also a member of the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses.
