February 20th, 2025–Baptist Health Maimi Neuroscience Institute recently held its first Parkinson’s Disease Patient Symposium for patients and care partners in the South Florida community.  The event, which took place at the Hilton, Miami Dadeland, provided insight and education to patients and caregivers about diagnosing and treating Parkinson’s Disease. Experts from the Miami Neuroscience Institute led panel discussions to increase awareness and promote regional and national community engagement.

“Educating our community about Parkinson’s disease is essential to improving patient outcomes and quality of life,” said Diego Torres-Russotto, M.D., chair of neurology and the Distinguished Endowed Chair in Neurology at Baptist Health Miami Neuroscience Institute. “By bringing together experts in the field, we can empower individuals with knowledge and resources to navigate their journey with Parkinson’s more effectively.”

The Miami Neuroscience Institute provides the most comprehensive and innovative techniques for diagnosing and treating the brain, spine, and nervous system. The institute embraces a multidisciplinary approach to patient care, from neurosurgical treatments and minimally invasive procedures to complex brain and spine surgery.
