August 6, 2025 – Baptist Health South Florida announced its 2025 Biomedical Research Symposium, set for Friday, Sept. 12, at Hilton Miami Dadeland. The live, in-person event will highlight cutting-edge research and innovations across multiple clinical specialties.

The symposium fosters multidisciplinary collaboration to accelerate translational research and enhance patient care across the region. It aims to connect researchers, clinicians and academic partners to drive innovation; evaluate breakthrough therapies tailored to South Florida’s diverse, medically complex population; and showcase emerging diagnostic and treatment technologies in oncology, cardiology, neurology and orthopedics.

Healthcare professionals across a range of roles are invited, including physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, pharmacists, residents, students and research staff.

Program highlights include:

• The SMART ONE trial (stereotactic MR-guided adaptive radiation), therapies for recurrent meningioma, spinal metastasis interventions and novel drug combinations in central nervous system lymphoma.
• Updates on CAR T-cell glycome engineering, glioblastoma proteasome inhibitors, RNA methylation–targeted therapies and pain relief innovations with pTMS.
• Biomarker research for early detection of oral and lung cancers; advanced imaging analyses in meningioma; and cognitive decline detection.
• HEMERA 1 trial results, advancements in aortic disease treatment, insights from the Baptist Miami Heart Study, catheter-based vascular technologies, robotic single-port surgery and cognitive predictors of hydrocephalus.
