October 12, 2022 – Bo Boulenger, President & Chief Operating Officer announced today that Lincoln Mendez has been appointed to the newly created role of North Region Executive and CEO of Boca Raton Regional Hospital. His expanded responsibilities include driving our continued growth across the Palm Beach County market, with a strategic focus on expanding the orthopedics, cardiac & vascular, cancer and neuroscience service lines to provide greater access to these services in the region. He will also oversee the physician development strategy and the continued integration and systemization of Bethesda Hospital East and West and Boca Raton Regional Hospital.
Lincoln has served as Boca Regional’s CEO since 2019, when the hospital became part of Baptist Health. Over the past few years, the hospital has been undergoing an exciting period of growth with many campus renovation and expansion plans with the goal of offering even more specialties and accessibility. Lincoln will continue to oversee this ambitious initiative and also work closely with the CEO of Bethesda Hospital East and West on market-wide initiatives. A search is underway for a new CEO for Bethesda, who will succeed Nelson Lazo upon his retirement.
Lincoln’s leadership and system focus have been essential in bringing together the orthopedic service line under Baptist Health Orthopedic Care, helping to create a vast network of high-quality orthopedic and sports medicine services across the South Florida market.
Prior to leading Boca Regional, Lincoln was CEO at South Miami Hospital for 9 years and CEO at Doctors Hospital for 14 years. He is actively involved in the Palm Beach County community, currently serving on the Board of the Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce, the South Florida Hospital and Healthcare Association, the Boca Raton Innovation Campus and the Board of the FAU Schmidt College of Medicine Medical School Consortium.
His long history of accomplishments at Baptist Health, most recently in the Palm Beach market, positions him perfectly to lead the region through our exciting next phase. Please join in me in congratulating Lincoln on his new role and wishing him the best.
