Baptist Health South Florida was recently recognized as a Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion after earning a top score of 100 on The Disability Equality Index®, a joint initiative of Disability:IN and The American Association of People with Disabilities.

In 2024, 542 corporations benchmarked their disability inclusion efforts using the Disability Equality Index, which measured: culture and leadership; enterprise-wide access; employment practices (benefits; recruitment; employment, education, retention and advancement; accommodations); community engagement; supplier diversity; and responsible procurement.

Baptist Health’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion department collaborates with external community partners and hiring leaders to create employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities. The healthcare system also has eight employee-led Business Resource Groups, including the Abilities Business Resource Group, which are comprised of individuals who are passionate about a particular shared background. They foster a diverse, inclusive workplace aligned with the organization’s mission, values, goals, practices and objectives.
