Barry offers programs that produce effective nurses, doctors, technologists, and administrators.
The School of Podiatric Medicine offers the Doctor of Podiatric Medicine, and the DPM/MBA dual degree program prepares you to be a physician executive. You can also choose the highly-regarded graduate Physician Assistant Program or the masters in anatomy.
Barrys College of Health Sciences houses the majority of the universitys health care programs, addressing four areas: nursing, clinical sciences, allied health, and health management.
The Division of Nursing offers the bachelors degree; masters degrees focusing on acute and family care nurse practitioners, nursing administration, and nursing education; an MS/MBA dual degree; PhD in nursing; and Doctor of Nursing Practice.
Programs in the Division of Graduate Clinical Sciences include the graduate anesthesiology program Floridas largest and most well established to produce certified registered nurse anesthetists. The occupational therapy masters program is one of only two full-time, weekend OT graduate programs in the Southeast. And Barrys biomedical sciences masters program prepares students for the rigors of medical school. In 2008, 92% of its graduates were accepted to medical or dental schools for the fall 2009 semester.
The Division of Allied Health Programs offers a bachelors in clinical biology, with specializations in histotechnology, medical technology, diagnostic medical sonography, and nuclear medicine. The division also boasts Floridas only fully-accredited bachelors program in cardiovascular perfusion.
The Division of Health Management Programs focuses on developing highly-skilled and ethical administrators. The masters program in health services administration has been recognized by Modern Healthcare magazine as one of the top 10 graduate programs nationwide for training physician executives. Furthermore, the professional Master of Public Health prepares you to assume leadership roles and develop, implement, and assess programs related to the publics well-being. You can enroll in both programs and earn an HSA/MPH dual masters degree.
Barry offers graduate certificates in health care leadership; planning and informatics; and long-term care, medical group practice, and quality improvement/outcomes management. The HSA bachelors degree is also available.
Through its College of Arts and Sciences, Barry provides traditional bachelors programs in biology and chemistry, with pre-professional specializations including pre-med, pre-dentistry, pre-pharmacy, and more. Barry also offers pharmacy technician and EMT certification programs through its School of Adult and Continuing Education.

Barrys programs dont just consider physical health. They also tackle psychological and social well-being. You can earn a bachelors degree in psychology and continue your studies in its various graduate programs in psychology and counseling. You can earn a masters in clinical psychology and a specialist degree in school psychology.
Counseling programs include masters, specialist, and doctoral degrees, with specializations in marital, couple, and family counseling/therapy, mental health counseling, rehabilitation counseling, and school counseling. Dual specializations are available. The university also offers bachelors and masters degrees in social work.
Moving from the classroom to the playing field
Programs in Barrys School of Human Performance and Exercise Sciences prepare students to enter sports-related careers. It offers bachelors degrees in exercise science and athletic training, with pre-med and pre-physical therapy specializations. With its five-year bachelors-to-masters program, you can seamlessly earn your graduate degree. The masters in movement science includes specializations in exercise science, sport and exercise psychology, and injury and sport biomechanics.
