Health care professionals are invited to attend this fast-paced seminar designed to help physicians decide on the best direction for their practices, from joining new hospitals and insurance-based groups to ACOs and MSOs. Topics will include how integrated networks control costs and shared savings among physicians, the risks and rewards of integrated networks, and the value-based payments systems in ACOs.
 
The seminar will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2013, at the Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Airport Hotel, 1825 Griffin Road, Dania Beach. The program is being presented by the Broward County Medical Association, the Dade County Medical Association and the Health Care Solutions Alliance (HCSA), a group of professionals who have come together to offer medical services as a single source for consulting and professional services.
 
The keynote speaker is Michael Ogden, M.D. chief clinical integration officer of Cornerstone Healthcare, whose topic is “Cornerstone’s Journey from Fee-For-Service to Pay-For-Value.” A panel discussion follows on “Critical Next Steps: Exploring the Risks and Rewards of Integrated Networks.” Lanny Pauley, COO of Neuroscience Consultants will moderate the panel, whose members include Phil Dutcher, COO, NCH Healthcare Systems; Arthur Hansen, DPM, leadership committee, Palm Beach ACO; Marcia James, director, Provider Engagement for Humana, Inc.; Leonard Kalman, M.D., president, Advanced Medical Solutions; and Dr. Ogden. The luncheon speaker is Michael Schweitz, M.D., president, Coalition of State Rheumatology Organizations. Members of HCSA also will be on hand for expert roundtables.
