Hereira has more than ten years of experience as a social worker. She earned a Master’s degree in social work and a post Master’s degree in education from Florida Atlantic University. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and The Florida Coalition of Oncology Nurse Navigators. In 2008, she was published in the American Journal of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
