Dr. Kayvan Amini, President of the Broward County Medical Association

November 11, 2025  – The Broward County Medical Association (BCMA) is proud to announce it has been awarded the Community Catalyst Award at the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce’s annual Excellence in Healthcare Awards, celebrating organizations that exemplify leadership, collaboration, and impact in advancing community health.

Established in 1926, the BCMA stands as one of the most enduring and unifying forces in Broward County’s healthcare landscape. As the association prepares to celebrate its 100-year anniversary in 2026, this recognition highlights nearly a century of physician-led advocacy, innovation, collaboration, and community service.

For decades, BCMA has worked to protect and strengthen the physician-patient relationship, elevate standards of care, and champion policies that support public health, access to care, physician wellness, and the development of the healthcare workforce. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the BCMA played a pivotal role in education, coordination, and outreach, serving as a trusted resource for accurate clinical information and as a vital community bridge at a time of unprecedented uncertainty.

“Receiving the Community Catalyst Award is an honor that reflects the collective commitment of our physician leaders and members who have dedicated their careers to treating patients and strengthening the health of the entire Broward community,” said Dr. Kayvan Amini, President of the Broward County Medical Association, who accepted the award on behalf of the organization. “This recognition affirms the mission upheld for nearly 100 years, and further energizes us as we enter our Centennial to continue leading, advocating, and driving transformative impact in the decade ahead. In 2025, my goal has been to reposition the BCMA as a relevant and guiding force, uniting stakeholders to advance and transform healthcare in our county.”

BCMA invites supporters, healthcare partners, institutions, and private sector leaders to join in the historic moment of the association 100-year anniversary by participating in the January 31st gala event, open to the public.

Supporting the BCMA 100-year anniversary is an investment in the future of physician leadership, innovation in local care delivery, workforce development, and the continued advancement of health equity across Broward County.
