December 8, 2023 – Broward Health appointed a seasoned healthcare executive, Kristen Z. Bowman, MBA, as the new chief executive officer of Broward Health Coral Springs. Most recently, Bowman served as interim chief executive officer of WellStar Cobb Medical Center. Based in Atlanta, the hospital is part of Georgia’s largest non-profit healthcare system.

“With her leadership experience at non-profit hospitals with a vision and commitment to patient care similar to our own, Kirsten is a great fit for our hospital in Coral Springs,” said Shane Strum, President & CEO of Broward Health. “I’m confident she will contribute much to its ongoing growth and success.”

Prior to serving as WellStar Cobb Medical Center’s interim CEO, Bowman held leadership roles at the hospital including chief operating officer and assistant vice president of operations. Before that, she served as administrative director of clinical operations of HCA Eastside Medical Center in Snellville, Georgia.

Kristen earned her Bachelor of Liberal Arts and her Master of Health Sciences from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, as well as her Master of Business Administration from Louisiana State University, Shreveport. She is also a member of the American College of Health Care Executives.
