More than $1.3 million raised for Broward Health

May 26, 2023 – The Broward Health Foundation raised more than $1.3 million at the Mohsin and Fauzia Jaffer Foundation Broward Health Ball presented by Amazon.

This is the largest amount of money raised in the 10-year history of the Broward Health Ball. The Ball was held on May 20 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, and its theme paid tribute to Broward Health’s 85th anniversary. WSVN reporter Alex Miranda emceed the event, which attracted more than 1,000 attendees. The funds raised will further enhance patient care and services at Broward Health.

“Broward Health continues to break fundraising records through the generosity of our donors and sponsors who recognize and support the critical work we do,” said Shane Strum, President & CEO of Broward Health. “The generous donations received from our philanthropic partners allow us to continue providing high quality and lifesaving healthcare for all in Broward County.”

Notable donations from the night included:

  1. $85,000 donation from Rita Case.
  2. $85,000 from an anonymous donor.
  3. $50,000 from Dr. and Mrs. Gerald Glass.
  4. $25,000 from Courtney and Ray Berry, Mohsin and Fauzia Jaffer Foundation and David and Marla Maymon.

The event’s title sponsor was Mohsin & Fauzia Jaffer Foundation, it was presented by Amazon and hosted by The Haller Foundation.
