October 8 2020 – In an effort to educate the South Florida community about breast cancer, Broward Health Medical Center hosted an AmeriBreast exhibit on October 8.
Patients, guests and Broward Health employees had the opportunity to tour the oversized, interactive inflatable breast at the Fort Lauderdale hospital and see the different areas inside a breast.
The inflatable display is about 12.5 feet tall, 15.5 feet wide and 19.5 feet long. Inside, participants could view breast blood vessels, lymph nodes, fat cells and milk lobules.
Broward Health Medical Center caregivers were also on-hand to encourage women to obtain mammograms, in consultation with their physicians. They also provided breast education and hosted educational activities.
