Fall 2025 grade marks continued recognition for patient safety excellence

November 14, 2025 – Broward Health North and Broward Health Coral Springs have again earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group. This national nonprofit quality assessment group assesses standards for patient safety in hospitals across the country.

“This is the fourth consecutive ‘A’ grade for our 409-bed hospital, and it reflects our team’s unwavering focus on safety and continuous improvement,” said Matt Garner, CEO of Broward Health North. “We take great pride in knowing that our community can trust us to provide care in an environment where patient safety always comes first.”

The “A” grade is the highest possible rating and recognizes hospitals that demonstrate exceptional commitment to protecting patients from preventable harm and medical errors.

“We are thrilled to once again receive an ‘A’ from The Leapfrog Group. It underscores that patient safety is our top priority,” said Kristen Bowman, CEO of Broward Health Coral Springs. “This recognition reflects the dedication of our caregivers, who consistently deliver safe and high-quality care to every patient.”

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only national hospital ratings program focused exclusively on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries that contribute to the deaths of more than 500 patients daily in the United States. The program uses more than 30 national performance measures, is peer reviewed, transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice a year, in the spring and fall.
