Welcoming space is a sanctuary for Jewish families, complete with fresh Kosher foods
October 29, 2024 – Broward Health North hosted prominent local rabbis and members of the Jewish community during a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the newly renovated Kosher Hospitality Room.
The dedicated space is designed to provide comfort and support for Jewish families visiting loved ones at the hospital. Conveniently located on the third floor, Broward Health North’s Kosher Hospitality Room offers patient families a private area for respite and spiritual reflection. They can also enjoy nutritious kosher foods and beverages provided by the hospital.
“We are welcoming and inclusive at Broward Health North,” said Matt Garner, CEO of Broward Health North. “We thank our many partners in the Jewish community for celebrating the opening of this very special space and hope that all community members will find solace, peace and comfort here, particularly in their time of need.”
Kosher Hospitality Room amenities include a refrigerator, separate microwaves for dairy and meat, an electric pot for hot water, a coffee station, cold drinks and a selection of perishable and non-perishable food and snacks. The tranquil room offers seating and a lounge sofa for rest and reflection along with spiritual resources including prayer books, reading material and hospital-safe Shabbat packages.
