Top grade affirms Broward Health’s continued commitment to excellence in patient care
January 13, 2024 – Broward Health North has earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade for Fall 2024 by The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit watchdog. This marks the second consecutive “A” following the spring 2024 Hospital Safety Grade release. In its primary service area, Broward Health North is the only hospital to receive an “A” grade for fall. Leapfrog assigns a grade from A to F to hospitals nationwide based on more than 30 measures of errors, accidents, injuries and infections as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent them.
“This second consecutive ‘A’ grade demonstrates our consistency in providing safe and exceptional healthcare to all our patients at Broward Health North,” said Matthew Garner, CEO for Broward Health North. “We have an unwavering commitment to prioritizing patient safety and maintaining the highest standards of patient care.”
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program focused exclusively on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries that harm more than 500 patients a day nationally. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
“Achieving an ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade is a significant accomplishment for Broward Health North,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “It reflects enormous dedication to your patients and their families, and your whole community should be proud. I extend my congratulations to Broward Health North, its leadership, clinicians, staff and volunteers for their tireless efforts to put patients first.”
