Broward Health North celebrated their first DAISY Award recipient Mary Dodson, R.N., Hematology and Oncology, on August 12. The DAISY Award is a monthly nationwide program that rewards and celebrates the extraordinary clinical skills and compassionate care given by nurses every day.
 
“Mary exemplifies what it takes to be an outstanding, caring nurse. She always takes time to really listen to the patient and finds a way to help them professionally and personally. She demonstrated this while working in the Cancer Center on a daily basis. Always holding the patient’s hand, offering encouragement and support. When a patient needed help at home, Mary never hesitated to assist on her own time. Mary continues her good work and serves the inpatient cancer patients. Mary is an extraordinary nurse and deserves the BHN DAISY Awards!”
