Broward Health is proud to announce that Matthew Garner was named chief executive officer of Broward Health North after serving as the hospital’s interim CEO.

Garner’s prior executive experience includes serving as president and CEO of North Shore Medical Center in Miami and chief operating officer at Florida Medical Center in Lauderdale Lakes. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Services Administration from the University of Central Florida, a Master of Health Administration from the University of Florida and is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Others joining the hospital’s leadership team include:

Jerry Capote, M.D., will serve as chief medical officer after previously serving in that capacity at Broward Health Imperial Point. Before joining Broward Health, Dr. Capote served as the medical director of critical care at Hialeah Hospital and as chairman of the pulmonary division at Select Specialty Hospital.

 

 

Carl McDonald rejoins Broward Health as chief human resources officer for Broward Health North. Most recently the interim executive director of human resources at Cleveland Clinic Florida, McDonald previously worked at Broward Health in various HR roles.

 

 

 

Another Broward Health alum, Eileen Manniste is rejoining the system as chief nursing officer at Broward Health North. Manniste was most recently chief nursing officer at HCA Florida University Hospital. Before that, she spent nearly 25 years serving in various nursing roles at Broward Health.
