Joe Rogers, Senior Vice President/Chief Operations Officer for Broward Health, was named the 2010 ‘Outstanding Father of the Year’ by the Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies Coalition of Broward County, Inc.

A couple years ago, Rogers became a single parent to five children, four of whom were his biological children, and toddler James who was adopted. Strongly believing that families need to stay together, and with an open heart, he took on the challenge to adopt James’s infant sister and their half sister. Rogers is a model of efficiency and strength as he now holds two full time jobs as the father and single parent to seven children ranging in age from 2 to 23 years old, and the other working for Broward Health.

He continues to be an active member in his church and devotes his time to help other foster children by serving on the Board of ChildNet, Broward County’s child welfare agency.
