Process improvement teams from Broward Health swept the competition at this years regional Performance Excellence Showcase winning the showcase presentation and taking first, second and third in the storyboard presentation.
“This is evidence in motion that Broward Health is committed to creating a world class health care delivery system in South Florida by improving our patient care processes, which ultimately affects patient outcomes,” said Lisa K. Rawlins, Director, Quality and Performance Improvement at Broward Health. “Our Board has made quality and performance improvement a priority for our system and by extension, for the residents of Broward County.” The event, sponsored by the American Society for Quality, the leading authority on quality improvement, was held Feb. 13 at the Signature Grand. Teams from Palm Beach, Broward, Dade and Monroe counties in the private, public, service, and manufacturing sectors competed for bragging rights over best practices in process improvement. Showcase teams competed to represent South Florida at the statewide Florida Sterling Quality Conference. Broward Health North Broward Medical Center will now compete in Orlando with winning teams from Floridas other regions for the right to represent Florida at the national level.
