January 24, 2022 — Broward Health’s Graduate Medical Education (GME) Department has received initial accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) for a second Transitional Year Program.

Broward Health is currently recruiting, interviewing and selecting 16 residents for the Transitional Year program, through the National Residency Matching Program. The new residents will begin their training at Broward Health North for the academic year beginning on July 1, 2022. Depending on their future medical specialty of interest, they will rotate through Broward Health Medical Center, Broward Health North, Broward Health Coral Springs and Broward Health Imperial Point.

Kaydance Hope

Dr. Rowe-King and Kaydance Hope, associate vice president of graduate medical education at Broward Health, oversee the office of GME, which is committed to providing outstanding educational opportunities in a unique clinical learning environment and provides administrative support for all physician training at Broward Health. Nemer Dabage-Forzoli, M.D., will serve as program director for the new Transitional Year Program at Broward Health North.

“Our office is dedicated to recruiting highly qualified residents and fellows for our training programs,” said Dr. Rowe-King. “We are responsible for obtaining and maintaining accreditation for the training programs at Broward Health which includes ensuring compliance with ACGME institutional and program requirements and Commission on Dental Accreditation program requirements.
