Jorge Hernandez, Broward Health’s VP and chief procurement officer, was recognized in Becker’s Hospital Review 2024 list of “Supply Chain Leaders to Know.”
August 29, 2024 – Hernandez has more than 25 years of experience in leadership roles in for-profit and non-profit hospital and corporate supply chains, including oversight of strategic sourcing, operations, systems, analytics, and organizational engagement across the spectrum of health systems. Hernandez has played a crucial role in managing and reducing supply costs while enhancing operational efficiencies within the system. He is a strong advocate for economic and small business development through the procurement process and has increased Broward Health’s spending and presence in the South Florida market. Additionally, he spearheaded a supply utilization transformation that optimized Broward Health Group Purchasing Organization contracts, consistently achieving savings of more than $1.5 million year after year.
