It’s a busy world for health care providers and it just keeps getting busier every day. Trying to provide quality healthcare is obviously the prime goal, but sometimes it may seem like other things such as credentialing verification, employee screening or hiring new employees could get in the way. Cambron Credentials, Inc. knows how busy health care providers are, which is the reason they provide these services. “We work with all sizes of clients, from small nursing homes to large, major hospital facilities,” says Sarah Emery, CEO and president of Cambron from her Vermont- based office, “And we can provide services to folks all over the country.”

Sarah founded Cambron in 2001 after leaving the insurance business. A graduate of the University of Connecticut, and having worked in the credentials verification industry since 1993, she loved the work but the commute to her current employer was becoming too much. “My clients would seek me out and ask me to help them so I started with a small, cottage industry and my business just grew,” she said. Cambron now manages data for thousands of healthcare providers across the U.S.

Cambron Credentials, Inc. uses the motto, “Trust, but Verify” and prides themselves on requiring no minimum enrollment. “There are a lot of clients who may not be a large group but still need credentialing verification services. It’s just not prudent to turn them away. Not everyone has a system of 500 employees,” says Sarah, “So if someone has a system of 20, we can help them. Everyone doesn’t start off large! Plus, we don’t require a lengthy time commitment for our services.”

In addition to their credentialing verification services, Cambron recently began offering a new product, Employee Screening Services. “It has been very exciting for us because our governor, Governor Jim Douglas, came to our ribbon cutting ceremony to help us launch our new services,” she said.

According to Sarah, clients were asking for assistance in this area so it seemed like a natural to begin providing employee screening services to not only assist with the initial hiring screening process but to maintain ongoing verification. “The Office of the Inspector General has recommended that skilled nursing facilities should be checking the license of their employees on an ongoing basis. This can be very time consuming and costly for health care providers. By offering these services, we can save them a lot of time and money,” explains Sarah.

Sarah further explained that the Office of the Inspector General said that monies already paid to health care facilities would be in danger of having to be paid back if the Office found out there were unlicensed employees. “That could be a very costly mistake to a health care provider,” she says.

Concierge Services are another facet of Cambron’s services. “We assist small to large doctor’s practices with maintaining enrollment in health plan arrangements. We not only help complete the applications but submit them. It usually takes us two days for us to handle the process while in-house, it could take many days. You usually have an employee handling this while trying to conduct other duties. Instead of hiring administrative staff to handle this, my staff can do it and stay on top of the process,” Sarah says.

A plus to all of the services Cambron offers is that there is no time commitment required in their contracts. “You don’t have to sign on for a long time. A business may just be starting or expanding and they don’t want to hire a full-time employee, so they use our services. They may use us for a while, and then come back after some time. We realize this is a fluid business and people’s needs change.”

Sarah is also excited about a new service that Cambron will be offering soon – Executive Search Services. “We find that one of our clients will be looking for a health care employee while another client may be hoping to relocate and be just the person they are looking for. The world is becoming smaller as people move about – we decided why not use our contacts and assist them?” she says.

With all of the changes in rules, requirements and regulations across the board in health care services, Cambron Credentials can stay on top of policies and assist with a myriad of services. “We can save our clients a lot of time and money. That is our goal,” says Sarah.
