Newfield said there are hundreds of different types of ink and toners, and franchise owners receive continual training on and updates about them. “Because of new cartridges coming out, we get all of the up-to-date information on new toners and new inks. Most people don’t realize how much is involved. “Manufacturers don’t like us because this is a huge revenue stream for them,” Newfield explained. “They give people the perception that they can void warranties. However, a law was passed in Congressthe Magnuson Moss Warranty Act that says unless (another) company is giving a product away for free, they can’t void the warranty.”
She went on to say why Cartridge World could be of particular benefit to the medical community. “Hospitals’ expenses are so high that this is a way they can cut down on expenses,” she said. “I imagine they do a lot of printing and this is a way they can save thousands of dollars. Hopefully a hospital would care about the environment, too. And a doctor’s office is a small business. Something like this could affect the doctor’s personal bottom line.”
She mentioned a study she read recently regarding Duke University. “They decided to use remanufactured cartridges last year and saved approximately $400,000. I imagine that could be in line with a hospital,” Newfield said.
In addition to the savings and the advantage to the environment, she pointed out another benefit of using Cartridge World. “The level of customer service you get from a small business owner is better than what you get from a superstore. It’s more personal.”
