Keith Jones, M.D., FACS, RPVI, a vascular and endovascular surgeon, has joined Tenet Florida Cardiovascular Care (TFCC) and opened his practice in West Palm Beach, FL.

Prior to joining TFCC, Dr. Jones worked as a vascular surgeon at Mercy Medical Group, a service of Dignity Health Foundation located in Carmichael, CA.
 
For his education and training, Dr. Jones completed a vascular surgery fellowship at Albany Medical Center, Albany, NY. In addition, Dr. Jones also finished his residency in general surgery at Loyola University Medical Center located in Maywood, IL. He graduated medical school from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, Farmington, CT.


Holy Cross Medical Group has announced the addition of their new cardiothoracic surgeon, John Nicholas Melvan, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Melvan joins Holy Cross Hospital’s Jim Moran Heart and Vascular Center from Emory University School of Medicine, Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery, where he completed a combined residency and fellowship training program.
 
Prior to joining Emory in Atlanta, Dr. Melvan received his bachelors of science degree from the University of Wisconsin. Thereafter, he earned his medical and doctoral degrees (M.D., Ph.D.) from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he also served as an instructor of cardiovascular physiology.


Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital welcomes internal medicine physician Lori Posk, M.D., FACP. Dr. Posk earned her doctor of medicine from Michigan State University and completed her internal medicine residency at Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio. She is board certified in internal medicine and clinical informatics.
 
Dr. Posk served as Chief Medical Resident at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation prior to becoming Medical Director for MyChart at Cleveland Clinic and Medical Director at the Twinsburg Family Health and Surgery Center.
 
She joined the MyChart Team in July 2012 and led the team in several initiatives including Open Notes, electronic messaging, patient access and test result release.


Michelle Happer has joined Lee Health as its newest system director of diversity.

Happer most recently served as the manager of compliance and cultural diversity for the Sentara – Optima Health Plan in Virginia Beach, where she was responsible for cultural diversity and inclusion program initiatives. Before that, she was a physician relations executive for Inova Health System in Falls Church, VA.
 
Happer has a doctorate of education in organizational leadership from Nova Southeastern University. She also earned and a Master of Arts degree in communication and public relations and Bachelor of Science degree from Norfolk State University in Norfolk, Virginia. She is completing her Master of Arts in Health Care Law from Regent University.


Patrick A. Taylor, M.D., MBA, President and CEO of Holy Cross Hospital has decided to leave his position, effective October 30, 2019. Over the past 30 years, Dr. Taylor has been dedicated to serving the Holy Cross community.

"It has been my honor, and I have been blessed, to serve at Holy Cross," said Dr. Taylor. "No words will capture how significant a part of mine and my family’s life Holy Cross has been. I have the deepest gratitude to so many people who have supported me and us along the way. The Sisters of Mercy have left such an indelible mark on my life."
 
Dr. Taylor joined Holy Cross Hospital in 1988 as an emergency medicine physician and served in multiple positions of increasing responsibility such as Executive Director of Medical Affairs for the Holy Cross Medical Group, a multi-specialty employed physician group; Vice President of the Medical Group, Chief Medical Officer, and Chief Operating Officer of Holy Cross Hospital. In 2010, he became President and CEO.
 
Under Dr. Taylor’s leadership, Holy Cross also launched and completed several new investments to serve the community better. This includes completing the $26 million Moran Challenge (The Jim Moran Heart and Vascular Research Institute); The Phil Smith Neuroscience Institute; Doreen Koenig Blessed Beginnings Maternity Unit; Dorothy Mangurian Comprehensive Women’s Center; and the Patricia R. Guerrieri Pavilion. Holy Cross also developed an affiliation with Massachusetts General Hospital in clinical areas of oncology, cardiovascular and neurosciences and was recognized as a national leader in orthopedic excellence.
 
Dr. Taylor has been a long-standing supporter of the South Florida community, serving on numerous non-profit Boards: Catholic Health Services; Broward Partnership for the Homeless; Jack and Jill Children’s Center; The Broward Workshop. He has received a number of recognitions including the 2007 Valor Award, American Diabetes Association; the 2010 Leadership Broward Foundation Leader of the Year Award; the 2015 Broward Partnership James J. Blosser Community Trusteeship Award and the 2018 Junior Achievement, Melissa Aiello Character Award.
