Ophthalmologist Eugene M. Eisner, M.D., has been re-elected president of the more than 1,400 physicians on the Baptist Hospital medical staff. He served as president from 2006-2007, president-elect from 2004-2005, vice president from 2002-2003, and chief of ophthalmology from 1992-2001. He has been on the staff at Baptist Hospital since 1974.
Jupiter Medical Center’s (JMC) leadership team has received a national award for its workplace improvement program by The Jackson Group, Inc. JMC was one of two healthcare organizations out of a total of 224 they surveyed nationally this year to win the prestigious Laureate Award for Workplace Enhancement.
This award is based on employee surveys conducted in 2003, 2005, and 2007 to measure improvements in the work climate and results of action plans in areas identified for upgrading. The 2007 results showed strong improvements in all twelve measured categories as compared to 2005. The top three categories of improvement were organizational leadership, identification with goals and mission and attention to employee needs. Over 1,000 of JMCs employees completed the 2007 survey.Miami Childrens Hospitals (MCH) Board of Directors has announced new officers and board members for the 2008-2010 term.

Secretary – Ghislain Gouraige, Jr., senior vice president – investments for UBS Financial Services, Inc. He has served on the MCH board since 2002 and was reelected as secretary for the current board term. |

The Board of Advisors of The Belk Foundation has provided a $15,000 grant to Lee Memorial Health System Foundation in support of its Breast C.A.R.E. Program a local program that provides treatments, services and financial stipends to uninsured and underinsured women suffering from breast cancer.
“The Belk Foundation is pleased to present this grant to the Lee Memorial Health System Foundation to help fund medical treatment and medication for women in Lee and Collier counties who have been diagnosed with breast cancer and are uninsured or underinsured,” said Paul Wyche, trustee of The Belk Foundation. “We commend the Lee Memorial Heath System Foundation for its efforts to reach out to women who are in this situation.”The Womens Diagnostic & Wellness Center at Coral Springs Medical Center(CSMC) is proud to announce the availability of Breast MRI, an advanced technique used in the evaluation and early detection of breast cancer.
