Jack Ayala has joined the administration team at Broward General Medical Center as Chief Operating Officer.

Ayala has worked in the health care industry since 1976. He began his career as an associate director at the New York Health & Hospital Association. His experience includes serving as vice president, chief administrative officer and chief executive officer at hospital systems across the country.




Sofia Vasquez-Solomon, M.D., who specializes in adult endocrinology, diabetes management and metabolism, has joined the staff of Palmetto General Hospital, announced Chief Executive Officer Ana Mederos.

Dr. Vasquez-Solomon comes to the hospital following a fellowship at the University of Miami. She received her medical degree from the University of Panama Medical School, where she graduated with high honors. She is board certified in internal medicine, endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism and completed her internal medicine residency at Cleveland Clinic in Fort Lauderdale.




SHAPE students at Dr. Michael M. Krop High School have honored the Miami Beach Community Health Center (MBCHC) by selecting the organization to receive a grant from the students. SHAPE is a student organization which stands for Students Helping Achieve Philanthropic Excellence.

MBCHC will be using the money to provide “lunch and learn programs” for the community about topics such as: asthma, child safety, parenting, and disease prevention. The funds will also help the center to give out important health items like car safety seats, and breathing devices.

Miami Beach Community Health Centers consists of twenty-three (23) providers, including Family Practice Physicians, OB/GYN’s, Dentists, and Pediatricians, and other Healthcare Professionals, including Pharmacists and Behavioral Health Specialists. These services will be added to the network of healthcare providers offered by ehealthxchange.
