Elena Antedomenico Rehl, M.D., FACS, a fellowship-trained breast surgeon awarded the Bronze Star Medal and six other United States Armed Forces honors and recognitions while serving her country in Iraq, Africa, Germany and here in the U.S., has opened an office with Tenet Florida Physician Services (TFPS) in West Palm Beach, FL. Dr. Rehl specializes in breast surgery, breast cancer surgery and benign breast disease, and is on-staff at Good Samaritan Medical Center in West Palm Beach.

Dr. Rehl is certified by the American Board of Surgery. Prior to joining TFPS, Dr. Rehl worked as a breast surgeon at the Center for Breast Care, Memorial Health Anderson Cancer Institute located in Savannah, GA. Dr. Rehl, an award-winning, veteran general surgeon, has held the academic appointment of Assistant Professor of Surgery at Mercer University School of Medicine in Savannah, GA. In addition, Dr. Rehl worked professionally as a clinical breast instructor at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN, general surgery staff at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital, Fort Campbell, KY, Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Landstuhl, Germany and Wurzburg Army Community Hospital in Wurzburg, Germany.
 
Dr. Rehl served as both chief of general surgery/trauma surgery staff of the 21st Combat Support Hospital, Al Asad, Iraq, and as general surgery staff during Operation Nomad Fire – In Support of the President of the United States visit to Ghana, Africa. She also served as general surgery staff/trauma surgery staff for the 67th Forward Surgical Team, Airborne in Tallil, Tikrit, Baji and Baghdad, Iraq.

Hematologist-oncologist and clinical researcher Marco Ruiz, M.D., MPH, FACP, FIDSA, has joined the Division of Hematologic Oncology and Stem Cell Transplantation at Miami Cancer Institute, part of Baptist Health South Florida and the state’s only member of the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Alliance.
 
Dr. Ruiz earned his medical degree at the University Of San Marcos School Of Medicine in Lima, Peru. He also earned a Master of Public Health from the Nuffield Center for International Health & Development, University of Leeds in Sheffield, United Kingdom. His training also included an internship and residency in internal medicine at San Juan City Hospital in Puerto Rico. He completed fellowship trainings in hematology/oncology at Louisiana State University in New Orleans, LA and in bone marrow transplantation at Ochsner Medical Center, also in New Orleans. Prior to joining Miami Cancer Institute, Dr. Ruiz was an associate member of the Malignant Hematology and Cellular Therapy/Bone Marrow Transplantation Program at Moffitt Cancer Center in Pembroke Pines.
 
He currently serves as associate professor of clinical medicine at Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine, Florida International University.

Miami Cancer Institute at Baptist Health South Florida welcomes medical oncologist and clinical researcher Bruno Bastos, M.D., to its multidisciplinary team of cancer care specialists. Dr. Bastos specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of genitourinary cancer, which includes the prostate, bladder, kidney, ureter and urethra. He has expertise in the use of the most advanced systemic therapies, such as chemotherapy, hormone therapy and targeted therapy, both in the adjuvant and metastatic setting.

Dr. Bastos is triple board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine, medical hematology and medical oncology and he earned his medical degree at Universidade Federal da Bahia in Salvador, Brazil. He completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in hematology/oncology at University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He also completed a fellowship in developmental therapeutics in the medical oncology division at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, which is a principal teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA. Prior to joining Miami Cancer Institute, Dr. Bastos treated patients and conducted research at Cleveland Clinic Florida in Weston.
