Nicklaus Childrens Hospital at St. Marys Medical Center recently announced that Kidz Medical Services, Inc., has taken over leadership for its pediatric intensive care unit (PICU).

Carbone, CEO at St. Marys Medical Center and Nicklaus Childrens Hospital. “We are continuing our commitment toward growing Nicklaus Childrens Hospital and building a healthier community.” Kidz Medical Services, Inc., a well-established pediatric group, is under the direction of Albert Tano, M.D., and Jorge Perez, M.D., and has been providing pediatric critical care, pediatric emergency, pediatric hospitalist, and neonatology services in Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties for more than a decade.
Dominic S. Carreira, M.D., an orthopedic surgeon with advanced training from three orthopedic fellowship programs, has joined the North Broward Hospital District. He specializes in foot and ankle, hip arthroscopy, sports medicine and minimally invasive arthroscopic techniques.
Sara Howley, administrative director of corporate communications for the North Broward Hospital District, received the 2007 Jack Bondurant Award of Merit at the annual meeting of the Florida Society for Healthcare Public Relations and Marketing (FSHPRM), a division of the Florida Hospital Association. Howley started with the North Broward Hospital District ten years ago as a media relations specialist for Broward General Medical Center. She was promoted to Administrative Director of the Corporate Communications and Marketing Department in 2004 and oversees the media relations, marketing, web site development and HealthLine departments.
