G. Willy Davila, M.D., a board-certified gynecologist with Cleveland Clinic in Florida, was the winner of the Innovator award presented by the South Florida Business Journal during its annual Excellence in Health Care awards program. Dr. Davila was honored for his significant contributions to the field of urogynecology, a medical subspecialty focused on the diagnosis and treatment of urinary incontinence and female pelvic floor disorders.

For the past 10 years, Dr. Davila has chaired the Department of Gynecology at Cleveland Clinic in Florida. He is also head of the Section of Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery and co-founder of the Pelvic Floor Center at Cleveland Clinic in Florida.

Boca Raton Community Hospital (BRCH) Cardiologist Dr. Stephen Babic has been awarded the Excellence In Medicine award from the Palm Beach County Medical Society.

Dr. Babic has been on the medical staff of Boca Raton Community Hospital since 1976.

Dr. Babic has been a tireless patient and healthcare advocate for over 33 years. His outstanding efforts have been recognized with prestigious awards from the Florida Medical Association, the Palm Beach County Medical Society and the American Heart Association. Most importantly, Dr. Babic is recognized as being a strong supporter of physicians and the medical profession and a proponent for research, access to care and public health concerns. He helped to facilitate a unique initiative – The Future of Medicine – that was designed to create a road map for improving healthcare within Palm Beach County.

Aventura Hospital and Medical Center is proud to announce the promotion of Julie Millar, R.N., to the role of Associate Chief Nursing Officer. Millar has served for the past two and half years as the Director of Emergency Services at Aventura Hospital. During her tenure, she has worked closely with the Medical Director, Dr. Roman Skylar and with Miami Dade Fire and Rescue to implement new protocols that allowed the average wait time at Aventura Hospital’s Emergency Room to be reduced to less than ten minutes each month and to provide STENT intervention to heart attack patients within 60 minutes or less.
