Ophthalmologist Eugene M. Eisner, M.D., has been re-elected president of the more than 1,400 physicians on the Baptist Hospital medical staff. He served as president from 2006-2007, president-elect from 2004-2005, vice president from 2002-2003, and chief of ophthalmology from 1992-2001. He has been on the staff at Baptist Hospital since 1974.

Dr. Eisner is Board-certified in ophthalmology. He is also certified in laser vision correction procedures for the treatment of nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism. He is a voluntary faculty member at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, and a member of the Dade County Medical Association, the Miami Ophthalmological Society and the Florida Society of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Eisner received his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School, and completed his residency program in ophthalmology at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.



The Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine at Imperial Point Medical Center (IPMC) was recently surveyed by the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society and has been awarded “accreditation with distinction” for its quality patient care and outcomes.

The Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine at IPMC opened over five years ago and is committed to the treatment of difficult, non-healing wounds such as diabetic ulcers, traumatic and surgical wounds, and tissue damaged by radiation treatments. The Center touts higher than national average healing rates and recently received Diversified Clinical Services “2007 Clinical Excellence Award.” Diversified Clinical Services manages more than 150 centers nationwide, including IPMC’S, and chose the center for its high healing rates, outstanding clinical practices and patient satisfaction scores.



Columbia Hospital is pleased to announce the appointment of Patrick Connor as Chief Operating Officer. He was most recently Chief Operating Officer at Palms West Hospital and has been with the HCA family in a number of roles. Those roles include Chief Financial Officer at Columbia Hospital, Vice President for Finance at Miami Heart Institute, Chief Financial Officer at Pompano Beach Medical Center and Controller at Northwest Medical Center. Outside of HCA Connor was the Chief Financial Officer at Wellington Regional Medical Center for five years. He began his career at Delray Medical Center’s Fair Oaks Hospital where he served in a number of roles including its Chief Financial Officer.



Mariners Hospital was one of 61 Florida hospitals recognized for its participation in national projects designed to improve the quality of healthcare. FMQAI, the Medicare Quality Improvement Organization for Florida, recognized the hospital for its participation in the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services quality improvement projects. In addition, the hospital has established infrastructures for continuous quality improvement.

Catholic Health Services (CHS) retained the firm to build a unique patient/resident satisfaction survey around the concept of the “ultimate question”. Responses to the ultimate question (how likely is it that you would recommend company X to a friend or colleague?) have a direct correlation to profitable growth. CHS is deploying these surveys via telephone and patient friendly touch screen data entry stations.

Terremark Worldwide (TW) retained the firm to design and deploy an internet-based employee satisfaction surveying system that has been proven to increase participant response rates. Additionally, the TW system will reduce the time from the close of the survey to results reporting to less than one week.
