The Areawide Council on Aging of Broward County welcomed close to 300 guests at its 30th Annual Installation Dinner.

The Dinner honorees were: Alan Brass, Joel Fass, Audrey Millsaps, and Jack Tobin, Board Members for 20 or More Years; Della McCurdy, Outgoing Advisory Council Chair; Shelly Greenberg, Supervisor, North Broward Memory Disorder Center, Project Director of the Year; June McCarthy, Volunteer of the Year; Broward Commissioner Ilene Lieberman, Elected Official of the Year; Cooper City, Miramar, and Wilton Manors; 30 Consecutive Year Full Fair Share Contributors; Lauderhill and Oakland Park, 25 Consecutive Year Full Fair Share Contributors; and Plantation, 5 Consecutive Year Full Fair Share Contributor.




Miami-Dade County Health Department Administrator, Dr. Lillian Rivera was recently the proud recipient of the South Florida Healthcare Executive Forum 2009 Community Service Award.

St. Mary’s Medical Center announced Josh DeTillio as its new Chief Operating Officer.

Prior to his work at St. Mary’s, DeTillio was the COO at North Shore Medical Center, in Miami. DeTillio was also previously an Associate Administrator for Aventura Hospital and Medical Center, and an Administrative Fellow at Cedars Medical Center, now University of Miami Hospital.




Broward Health was recognized by the Broward County Environmental Protection and Growth Management Department for its environmentally responsible business practices. The 2009 Emerald Award was presented to Broward Health in the Pollution Prevention: Hazardous Waste Reduction – large business category.
