Charles L. Vogel, M.D., F.A.C.P., an internationally recognized expert in the multidisciplinary management of breast cancer, has joined the Aptium Oncology network as Senior Research Advisory for Breast Cancer and has moved his practice to the Lynn Regional Cancer Center West Campus of Boca Raton Community Hospital.
Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center (PBGMC) recently announced that five of its Cardiac Surgery Registered Nurse First Assistants (RNFA) have been named to the Endoscopic Vessel Harvesting (EVH) Leadership Circle. This recognition comes from Guidant Corporation, makers of the VasoView® System, technology used in these procedures.

Barry University Nursing Students Association members (l-r) Lindsey Wright, Megan Conroy, Amy Beliveau, Indra Hershorin (faculty), Kathy Delong and Michelle Delong all participated in the American Cancer Societys “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” walk at Miamis Bayfront Park recently. The nursing students raised over $600, which exceeded the total raised last year. All proceeds from the walk were donated to the ACS to support its mission for the fight against cancer. It is the third consecutive year that Barry Universitys School of Nursing has participated in the walk.
New board members for 2006 were installed at the annual board meeting of the Douglas Gardens Community Mental Health Center of Miami Beach, Inc (DGCMHC). Immediate Past President Brett Feinstein served as installing officer for the ceremony in which Jacque Hertz was elected board president, Gert Arfa was named vice president, Stella Davidovic assumed the position of secretary and Micahel Mowatt was installed as treasurer.
