Helenemarie Blake has been appointed vice president and chief compliance and privacy officer at Nicklaus Children’s Health System.

Blake comes to the health system – parent organization of Nicklaus Children’s Hospital – from University of Miami, where she served as data privacy officer for the university at large and chief privacy and data integrity officer for the University of Miami Health System. Previously, she served as a partner with the law firm of Fowler White Burnett, PA, representing health systems and hospitals in both litigation and regulatory proceedings.
 
Blake earned her bachelor’s degree from John Hopkins University and a juris doctor degree from the University of Miami.


Drew Grossman has been named Chief Executive Officer of Mariners Hospital and Fishermen’s Community Hospital, both part of Baptist Health South Florida. Grossman will assume his position on February, 25, 2021, succeeding the retirement of longtime leader, Rick Freeburg.

Grossman earned a Bachelor of Science from The Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Health Services Administration from The George Washington University in Washington, DC. After completing his administrative residency at Parkway Medical Center in North Miami Beach, Grossman moved to Southern California to serve as Assistant Administrator at Centinela Hospital Medical Center, an acute care hospital serving Los Angeles and the South Bay regions. He returned to Florida in 2002 serving in leadership positions at Cleveland Clinic in Weston and Parkway Medical Center in North Miami Beach. Grossman then joined Broward Health as CEO of Broward Health Coral Springs and Salah Foundation Children’s Hospital. Grossman comes to us from St. Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Springs, MO. Under his leadership as CEO, St. Mary’s Hospital has reached new levels of patient satisfaction, safety, quality and efficiency.


Joseph Motta, M.D., FACS, a cardiothoracic surgeon who co-founded the open heart surgery unit at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center, has joined Tenet Florida Cardiovascular Care.

Prior to joining Tenet Florida Cardiovascular Care, Dr. Motta and Richard S. Faro, M.D., FACS, led a successful medical practice at Palm Beach Cardiovascular Associates.
 
Dr. Motta has been on-staff at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center since 1983. He was the Vice Chief of Staff at the hospital in 2001.
 
Dr. Faro, a highly experienced cardiac, vascular and thoracic surgeon and founder of the Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center Heart Institute has also joined Tenet Florida Cardiovascular Care.
 
Dr. Faro served as Founder and Director of Cardiac Surgery from 1983-2000 at the Palm Beach Heart Institute at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center where he and Dr. Motta established the open heart surgery unit at the hospital. During his medical career, Dr. Faro has operated with staff privileges at six different South Florida hospitals. Previously, Dr. Faro served as assistant professor, Department of Surgery at the University of Florida in Gainesville, clinical instructor and adjunct attending at Rush Medical College in Chicago and as assistant instructor at the Department of Surgery, Creighton University. 


Cleveland Clinic Martin Health welcomes board-certified vascular and endovascular neurosurgeon Zeguang Ren, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Ren received training in both neurosurgery and endovascular neurosurgery. He completed a neurosurgery fellowship at the University of Washington, and a cerebrovascular/endovascular neurosurgery fellowship from Strong Memorial Hospital, University of Rochester. He earned a Master of Neuroscience degree and PhD of Neuroscience at Beijing Neurosurgical Institute and Beijing Tiantan Hospital.
 
Prior to joining Martin Health, Dr. Ren has practiced as an attending neurosurgeon in Tampa, Fort Pierce and in Beijing. He is board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery.
