Pediatric general surgeon Avraham Schlager, M.D., FACS, has joined Palm Beach Children’s Surgical Specialists, a Tenet Florida Physician Services (TFPS) medical practice located in West Palm Beach.

Dr. Schlager is the former Surgical Co-Director of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Trauma Medical Director at Akron Children’s Hospital located in Akron, OH. In addition, Dr. Schlager served as Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Pediatric Surgery at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED), an academic institution affiliated with Akron Children’s Hospital. Dr. Schlager also served as the Director of the Pediatric Surgery Research Fellowship program and worked as a pediatric general and trauma surgeon, and neonatal specialist at the hospital.
 
For his education and training, Dr. Schlager completed a fellowship in pediatric surgery at Emory University, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Dr. Schlager completed his general surgery residency and internship at New York University Medical Center in New York, NY. In addition, Dr. Schlager also finished a research residency at Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical Center located in Jerusalem, Israel. Dr. Schlager graduated medical school from Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York, NY.


Holy Cross Medical Group announces the addition of Andrew Lovy, M.D., M.S., a fellowship trained hand and upper extremity surgeon.

Prior to joining Holy Cross, Dr. Lovy was a hand and upper extremity surgeon and Assistant Professor, Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, and Assistant Fellowship Director, Hand Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Beth Israel.
 
Dr. Lovy completed his fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, in hand, upper extremity and microvascular surgery and his residency in orthopaedic surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital. He earned his M.D. and M.S. in Clinical Research at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York and graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in Economics from Tufts University.


Board-certified urologist Blake Evans, M.D., FACS, joins BocaCare Physician Network, a part of Baptist Health South Florida.

Dr. Evans joins BocaCare from Lee Health in Fort Myers. Previously, he served as the interim chair of the Department of Surgery at Cape Coral Hospital in Cape Coral.
 
Dr. Evans earned his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He completed his urologic training at Shands Hospital at the University of Florida in Gainesville.


Steven A. Plato, M.D., a cardiothoracic surgeon providing adult cardiac, aortic and endovascular surgery care has joined Tenet Florida Physician Services and opened his office in Fort Lauderdale.

For his education and training, Dr. Plato completed a cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at Loma Linda University Medical Center in Loma Linda, CA. In addition, Dr. Plato served as administrative chief resident (2016-2017) during his five-year integrated vascular surgery residency at University Hospitals, Case Western Reserve University located in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Plato finished his basic surgery internship at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville, FL. He graduated medical school from Michigan State University, College of Human Medicine, located in East Lansing, MI. 


Tenet Florida Physician Services welcomes Matthew B. Dobbs, M.D., FAOA, FACS, a world-renowned orthopaedic surgeon and clubfoot expert opening a Paley Orthopedic & Spine Institute office in West Palm Beach.

Prior to joining the Paley Orthopedic & Spine Institute, Dr. Dobbs served as a staff physician at Shriners Hospital for Children – St. Louis as well as the Dr. Asa C. and Mrs. Dorothy W. Jones Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and Director of Strategic Planning in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Washington University located in St. Louis, MO. In addition, Dr. Dobbs was the Founder and Director of the Clubfoot Treatment Center, Center for Foot Disorders, Congenital and Acquired Torticollis Program, Toe Walking Center and Nail Patella Syndrome Clinics at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Furthermore, Dr. Dobbs worked as Co-Director of the Williams Syndrome, Skeletal Dysplasia, and Neurofibromatosis Clinical Programs, Musculoskeletal Genetics Research Laboratory, Center for Cerebral Palsy Spasticity and Rett Syndrome Clinic at St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
 
For his education and training, Dr. Dobbs completed a Fellowship, Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery and Pediatric Spine Surgery at Shriners Hospital for Children in St. Louis. Dr. Dobbs finished his orthopaedic surgery residency and internship at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics located in Iowa City, Iowa. He graduated medical school from the University of Iowa College of Medicine.
