Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital welcomes board-certified cardiac surgeon Mariano Brizzio, M.D. Dr. Brizzio earned his doctorate of medicine from Universidad de Buenos Aires and his doctorate of philosophy from Universidad del Salvador in Argentina. He completed residencies in general surgery and cardiac and vascular surgery at Complejo Medico Churruca-Visca and Instituto Sacre-Coeur, respectively. He completed a fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at Cleveland Clinic.
The medical staff at Broward Health Medical Center awarded $10,000 in scholarships to local high school students who will be continuing their education in the medical field. Ten high school graduates from Dillard High School, Fort Lauderdale High School and Stranahan High School each received a $1,000 scholarship at a drive-through, no contact ceremony at Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale. Students were awarded their scholarship check and received a gift bag with a special message of encouragement from Broward Health physicians.
