Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital welcomes board-certified interventional cardiologist Carlos Andres Gonzalez Lengua, M.D.

Dr. Gonzalez earned his doctorate of medicine from Universidad National de Colombia School of Medicine. He completed fellowships in Cardiac CT/MRI at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital, cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology at Mount Sinai Hospital, Mount Sinai St. Luke’s and Mount Sinai Beth Israel hospitals and a structural heart disease fellowship at New York University School of Medicine (NYU Langone medical center).
 
Prior to joining Indian River Hospital, Dr. Gonzalez has served as an attending physician at NYU Langone Medical Center and Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital.
 



Gary Shifrin, M.D., FACC, has joined Mount Sinai Heart New York in Palm Beach to provide general and preventative cardiovascular care to patients in West Palm Beach. Dr. Shifrin is a board-certified clinical cardiologist who has been caring for the people of Palm Beach County since 1988.

Prior to joining Mount Sinai Heart NY Palm Beach, he worked at Cleveland Clinic Florida and helped establish their Wellington office. Dr. Shifrin was an Affiliated Assistant Clinical Professor of the Miller School of Medicine of the University of Miami. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and American Heart Association. Dr. Shifrin is a member of the Council of Clinical Cardiology of the American Heart Association and has served on the Board of Directors of the Palm Beach County Chapter.
 
In addition, he served as a Counselor for the Florida Chapter of the American College of Cardiology.
Dr. Shifrin received his undergraduate and Master of Science degrees from Northwestern University where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa. He earned his medical degree at State University of New York, Health Sciences Center, in Brooklyn. He then completed his internship and residency training in Internal Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx. He received his Fellowship training in Cardiovascular Disease at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.



Holy Cross Medical Group announces the addition of pulmonologist Felix Hernandez, M.D.

Dr. Hernandez joins Holy Cross Health from Aventura Pulmonary Institute in Miami where he was director of advanced diagnostic bronchoscopy. Dr. Hernandez is also assistant professor of medicine at the Nova Southeastern University Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Allopathic Medicine. He was previously associate program director of the pulmonary and critical care medicine fellowship program at Aventura Hospital & Medical Center and was awarded the teaching attending of the year award for the 2019-2020 academic year.
 
Dr. Hernandez received a B.S. Microbiology and Immunology from University of Miami, where he was also a post-graduate research fellow at the Miller School of Medicine, Department of Psychology. He earned his M.D. from Ross University School of Medicine in Portsmouth, Dominica.
