Brian E. Keeley, President and Chief Executive Officer of Baptist Health South Florida announced his plan to retire in 2022.

Keeley began his career as an administrative resident with Baptist Hospital in 1969. After serving four years as an officer of the U.S. Navy Medical Service Corp, he was named Assistant Administrator of the hospital in 1973, Chief Operating Officer in 1979 and CEO in 1986. He oversaw Baptist Hospital’s mergers with South Miami Hospital and Homestead Hospital in 1995, subsequently becoming the President and CEO of the newly formed Baptist Health South Florida.
 
Keeley spearheaded the additional growth of the health system that now includes 11 hospitals and 100 outpatient centers, urgent care facilities and physician practices spanning across Monroe, Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. Under his leadership, Baptist Health has become the largest and most preferred healthcare organization in the region with an operating budget of $4 billion, providing $380 million in charity care and community benefit last year.
 
With Keeley’s pending retirement, the board has unanimously selected Albert “Bo” Boulenger, current Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, to succeed Keeley. Boulenger began his career with Baptist Health in 1985 at South Miami Hospital. In 1994, he was named CEO of Homestead Hospital, and in 2006 he became CEO of Baptist Hospital. In 2018, he assumed his current role as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Baptist Health.

Karim Arnaout, M.D., and Neil Nagovski, M.D., both oncologists and hematologists, have joined the Holy Cross Medical Group.

Dr. Karim Arnaout worked as a medical Oncologist/Hematologist at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, MD, for seven years.
 
Dr. Arnaout earned his medical degree from the American University of Beirut in Lebanon in 2007. He completed his Internal Medicine internship and residency at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, where he received the Intern of the Year Award. He completed his Hematology/Oncology fellowship at the George Washington University in Washington, DC.
 
Dr. Neil Nagovski is a hematologist-oncologist, previously with GenesisCare and is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine.
 
Upon completion of his internal medicine internship and residency at St. Barnabas Hospital of the Weill Medical College at Cornell University, Dr. Nagovski completed his fellowship in hematology-oncology at the Wilmot Cancer Institute at the University of Rochester Medical Center in Rochester, NY.

José Keichi Fuentes was elected Chairman for UHC. This is Jose’s second time serving as Chairman. Fuentes serves as the Senior Government Relations Consultant for Becker & Poliakoff. Fuentes has twice served as an appointee for former Governor Rick Scott to the Board of Trustees of Miami-Dade College and has received numerous honors. Maria G. Lamas, MBA, is an accomplished business professional and philanthropist. She is a member of the UM School of Nursing and Health Studies’ Visiting Committee, panel participant and guest lecturer in integrative health care and distinguished former University of Miami alumni trustee.
 
Dr. Maria De Los Santos, Ph.D., is Clinical Assistant Professor of the Undergraduate Nursing Department in the Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing and Health Sciences, at Florida International University and is a member of the Dean’s Faculty Practice Advisory Committee, Nurse Practitioner Council of Miami-Dade, and Secretary for the Faculty Assembly.
 
Kathelyn “Kathy” Zimmerer, CPA, is a Partner with Zimmerer & Zimmerer CPAs PA. She has worked in the accounting field for more than 17 years and held positions as chief accounting officer, manager, and auditor.
