More than 50 Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA) and student nurse anesthetists journeyed to the State Capitol recently to meet with Florida legislators. Florida Association of Nurse Anesthetists (FANA) members discussed with state senators and representatives, key health care issues that impact CRNA practice and safe patient care.

Barry University, Master of Science Program in Anesthesiology Director Tony Umadhay, and other FANA leadership members met with key legislators to emphasize the role nurse anesthetists play in providing safe and accessible anesthesia care to the citizens of Florida. Members delivered a clear message to Tallahassee that CRNA’s are a vital solution to the current concerns over health care costs and quality.
