April 16, 2024 – Lake Worth Beach, FL. – Project Grow, Adopt-A-Family of the Palm Beaches Inc.’s afterschool/summer program for children in elementary school, serves the residents of the agency’s housing programs and the surrounding community, by addressing the complex needs of low-income and homeless students. A longtime friend of the agency, renowned NYC/Palm Beach florist, Lewis Miller, treated Project Grow students to an unforgettable day.
Miller organized a very special beach trip for students during Spring Break. The students arrived to discover a Pink Paradise haven waiting for them thanks to The Colony Hotel, complete with umbrellas, lounge chairs, beach toys, and ice pops. The children enjoyed jumping in the waves, building sandcastles, and collecting shells – some of the students even discovered the wonders of the beach for the very first time. Mark Mason from Team Sandtastic commemorated the day with an incredible sand sculpture just for Project Grow.
Since connecting with Adopt-A-Family in 2023, Miller has gone above and beyond to support the families served by the organization. It started with a Flower Flash on the Lake Worth campus, and has grown into regular flower arranging classes, trips to Lion Country Safari, hosted an agency fundraiser in his home, designed the florals and tablescapes for the 39th Annual Tree Lighting Celebration, and donated one of the organization’Tree Lighting’s featured live auction items.
