November 25, 2024 – Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center (CDTC) hosted its 32^nd annual Thanksgiving Basket Brigade, where over two days volunteers delivered 800 Thanksgiving meals to families caring for children with special healthcare needs.

“We’re incredibly grateful to the volunteers and sponsors who make it possible to spread joy to families who need it most,” said Ana Calderon Randazzo, executive director of CDTC. “The annual basket brigade is a chance for us to come together, express our gratitude, and give back to our most vulnerable patients and their families during this meaningful time of year.”

The event began on Saturday, November 23 with more than 100 volunteers gathering at CDTC to prepare bags filled with frozen turkeys and traditional holiday fixings. On Sunday, November 24, hundreds of volunteers returned to form a brigade of cars, popping their trunks to pick up filled baskets from the parking garage. The brigade then embarked on a mission to personally deliver holiday meals to the homes of pediatric patients across Broward County.

The Thanksgiving Basket Brigade has become a cherished tradition, highlighting the power of community and CDTC’s commitment to supporting families beyond medical care.
